robotspeaks asked: I only meant teenage kids using the label of being bi to rebel against authority. Or the stereotypical scene girl claiming to be bi to be "different". I see it as insulting to the people who can't come out, or are afraid of being persecuted or who are still confused by what they fell. When someone can co-opt that identity and use it as nothing more then a piece of fashion I think it taints the term.

I don’t see a huge problem with it. People are automatically expected to be straight, and forced into having that as an identity. I think it as a necessary thing to rebel against and experiment within attempting to realize one’s true sexual orientation? As for the co-opting of identity I think there are larger cultural players to be angry with than the teenagers experimenting with sexuality and identity.
